Charity celebrates new short breaks service

The latest additions to the Vibrance team. All Saints manager Belkis Sbai, with support workers Christine McCullock, Julius Olika,
Czeslawa Rudawska, and Adolphine Nseza.

Leading social care provider Vibrance is celebrating the addition of a new short breaks service in London.

The service, All Saints, in Merton, provides highly-specialist respite care for adults with autism, physical disabilities and other complex needs.

Registered charity Vibrance, which supports 850 adults throughout London and the South East with learning disabilities and mental health issues, successfully tendered for the service in April.

Director of Operations, Peter Chamberlain, said Vibrance was pleased to be expanding its services.

“We’re delighted to be taking over All Saints and we’re very much looking forward to bringing our values and experience to the people of Merton,” he said.

“We’re committed to helping our service users to enjoy every opportunity to gain independence and inclusion – and this will now include everyone who stays with us at All Saints.

“We are planning to make a number of enhancements to the service in the near future, including introducing a range of activities and events for our service users to participate in throughout their time with us.

“Respite care is a vital service and its importance and impact upon carers should not be underestimated. We aim to not only provide high-quality, person-centred care for our service users, but to also enhance the health, wellbeing and quality of life for those family and friends who care for them on a regular basis. We also aim to reduce the isolation that the carers can face.”

The All Saints service can provide care for up to six adults in specially adapted surroundings.

Vibrance already runs short break services in Woodford and Ilford. It also offers a range of community day services, low-support housing, nursing and care homes, supported employment and self-directed services.

The organisation currently employs around 400 people and was named in The Sunday Times ‘100 Best Companies To Work For’ in 2012.
