Vibrance staff and residents proved they had the recipe for success when they took part in their very own Great British 'Cake' Off.

An array of sweet treats was baked for the competition at Orchard Close Residential Care Home, in Wanstead, on December 4.

Redbridge Mayor, Councillor Felicity Banks, attended the event and had the difficult task of helping to judge the competition.

Senior support worker, Emma Hassett, took the top prize of a Christmas hamper with her winning carrot cake.

Orchard Close manager, Michelle Bunn, said all the entries had been delicious.

"There wasn’t much left by the end," she said.

"It's always good to introduce people to the home and the residents were really pleased to see Cllr Felicity Banks."

Orchard Close consists of two adjacent purpose-built houses managed as one service for 14 adults with mental health support needs. The Scandinavian chalet-style accommodation offers day trips, games, space for relaxing and an enclosed garden.
