The Moving On Up Group moves out!!

Opening of St Pauls by the Bishop of Bow

For some time now our Blue Skies Project day service in Bow has been looking for community bases to which the service can transfer. Following an excellent piece of partnership working between Vibrance, St Pauls Bow Common Church and the Housing Association Poplar Harca the Moving On Up Group (one part of Blue Skies Project) has moved out of the William Brinson Centre and is now based at St Pauls Bow Common Church Hall.

The hall was officially opened by Adrian Newman the Bishop of Stepney on 30th July 2011 and this was followed by a Garden Party to celebrate the event.

This is a very exciting moment for the Blue Skies Project because this move away from the William Brinson Centre symbolises a new style of day service, one which is truly community based, flexible and based around the genuine needs and wishes of the people using the service.

Din Hashem, a member of the Moving On Up Group said:
“It’s better than the centre because it’s quiet, the tube is not as loud, there’s more space and there’s no smell from the garages.”

Arthur Disley, another member of the Group said:
“The new base is much better, I now travel in independently on the bus. It is much cleaner and I feel much more relaxed and safer here.”
