New Trustees around the Vibrance Board table

Vibrance is delighted to announce that it has recruited two new Trustees onto its Board.

Anne Lyons

Anne Lyons

Anne holds an MA at the Institute of Education on Rights in Education and is currently a full-time Head of Modern Languages in a comprehensive school in St. Albans. She has also been a Teacher Governor at two different schools. Earlier on in her career she worked as a Warden of a Homeless Project in Sheffield. Anne has existing close personal links with Vibrance; her mother Jeanne Lill, who died last year, was a Vibrance Trustee for nearly 20 years, and her brother, Michael, lives in one of our care homes in Woodford.

Don Brereton

Don Brereton

Don comes to Vibrance with years of experience, both within government (most recently as Director of the Disability and Carers Group at the Department of Work and Pensions) and the voluntary sector (most recently as Chief Executive of the national charity Motability). Since his retirement in 2009, Don has remained very active in the sector; he was until very recently a Trustee and Chair of Carers UK and is now a Vice President. He is also a member and Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Carers and a member of the NHS Quality Board.

In addition to all of this experience, Don has another close link to Vibrance - his son, Sam, lives in one of our care homes in Woodford and uses our Day Opportunities Services.

We warmly welcome Don and Anne to our Board, knowing they bring not only valuable professional experience, but also the invaluable perspective of a family carer.
