An Ilford-based charity has been recognised for providing the highest standards of autism care for its service users.

Vibrance is improving the lives of people with autism by providing a specialist service, at their nearby care home in Canterbury Road, Leytonstone.

Vibrance is one of just 500 organisations globally to have received Autism Accreditation from The National Autistic Society (NAS).

Director of human resources at Vibrance, Nita Desir-Adeshiyan, said: “With this accreditation we are investing in the development of our assessment and support planning services to be able to offer support to a wider group of people with autism in the community.

"We want to offer the highest standard of service, creating a life of choice and opportunities. People using our Canterbury Road service are receiving highly specialised care."

The NAS is the UK’s leading charity for people with autism, and supports other organisations who are wishing to achieve the highest standard with this area of specialism.

Robert Pritchett, Director of Autism Accreditation at the National Autistic Society (NAS), said: “Autism Accreditation provides a seal of quality and aims to improve the standard of provision for people with autism. All staff at Vibrance's Canterbury Road service have put in a great amount of work to achieve this accreditation and should be proud of their achievement.

"Autism can have a profound and sometimes devastating effect on individuals and families but the right support can make a huge difference."

Knowledge and understanding of autism, a stable support plan for people who use the service, and that all aspects of practice are communicated throughout an organisation were all areas that Vibrance’s Caterbury Road service was assessed on.

Service Manager at Canterbury Road, Mark Ayling, said: “We are all very excited to achieve this accreditation. I am extremely proud of the staff team here and all the hard work they have put in to achieve this, they are all a real credit to Vibrance.

"This will make are service delivery even stronger, and our service users daily experiences better, knowing that they can expect a trusted and respected service."

Vibrance Canterbury Road provides services to adults, from the age of 20 to over 60, with complex needs and who can display challenging behaviour if their routine is disrupted.

Operating seven days a week, including evening sessions, the support and service is tailored to meet the individual’s needs, with regular activities organised by the care workers.
