Staff and services users from a Wimbledon Short Breaks Service enjoyed a summer celebration with a visit from the Mayor of Merton.

Around 30 Vibrance service users and their families attended a summer celebration in August, enjoying a BBQ in the sun.

Vibrance supports 850 adults throughout London and the South East with learning disabilities and mental health difficulties, offering a range of community day services, low-support housing, nursing and care homes, short breaks, supported employment and self-directed services.

All Saints Short Breaks Service provides support to people with both learning and physical disabilities. During a stay at All Saints, service users enjoy a variety of activities including visits to the theatre, pub, day trips to the seaside and seasonal discos and karaoke nights. Merton Borough Council commission Vibrance to provide the service on behalf of Merton’s social care customers.

The mayor of Merton, Councillor David Chung, attended the open day and took the opportunity to meet service users.

All Saints Short Breaks Service managers, Belkis Sbai, said: “It was an honour to have the mayor of Merton and his family attend our summer open day. It was a fantastic day for our service users, families and staff members, especially as the sun was shining. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended for making it an enjoyable event.”

The organisation employs around 400 people and was named in The Sunday Times ‘100 Best Companies To Work For’ in 2010 and 2012.
